Sisters of the Union
Our mission – to bring to life the historical aspects of everyday living that a woman had to endure during the mid-nineteenth century and to form a sisterhood that would emphasize care, help and support of the union Army. Essential items, created by caring hands, eventually found their way to battlefields and army camps. A t the same time these women had to overcome their own personal hardships and misfortunes. We hope to educate, inspire and encourage others to value and uphold their way of life. This will be accomplished through living history event activities.

Battery B, 1st. Michigan Light Artillery
In reality was part of a group called Stones Battery that contained Batteries A,B,C,D,E, and F. Stones batter was formed as the 1st Michigan light artillery with 6 guns to each battery. They were formed early in the war and fought in many major engagements. The battery was overrun during the battle at Shiloh and most of the guns and artillery men were captured by the confederates. Stones Battery exists today with re-enactors spread out in the original first 6 Batteries of the 1st Michigan Light Artillery. Battery B is composed of many the of the men who manned the guns. Batter B currently has 2 artillery cannons, and their associated Limber boxes. The living history portion of the Batteries mission is to demonstrate to the public the loading, aiming and firing of those guns. Additional typical CW camp life is demonstrated to the public when the guns are not being fired or drills taking place on them.
